MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AGING WAIVER PROGRAM
What is the Aging Waiver program?
The Aging Waiver program is for people aged 60 and older. This is a program in which home- and community-based services can be provided to you as an alternative to nursing facility care. It is called a “waiver” program because the services are funded through a special waiver of certain medical assistance restrictions allowing payments typically used for nursing home care to be used for home care services.

Who would actually provide these services to me?
If you become eligible for the Aging Waiver program, you will have a Care Manager discuss and develop a plan of care with you to meet your needs. Once the plan is developed, the Care Manager will authorize services. You will be able to choose which local organization or company that you would like to provide the service. You may select from a listing of participating certified service providers. All service providers are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging/Office of Long Term Living to ensure that they meet Medical Assistance Standards.
How do I know if I’m eligible?
· You must be a resident of Pennsylvania
· Must be U.S. Citizen or a qualified non-citizen
