Bench warrants are issued by the Berks County Court of Common Pleas for those defendants who fail to appear at a Court ordered Contempt Conference in the Domestic Relations Section or a Court ordered Contempt Hearing before a Family Court Judge.
Most bench warrants can be resolved without incarceration by the defendant reporting to the Domestic Relations Section's Compliance/Enforcement Unit.
