Alisa R. Hobart has been employed by the Berks County District Attorney's Office since July 2000, when she moved to public service from private practice. As Chief of Appeals, Ms. Hobart is responsible for all defense and Commonwealth appeals from cases prosecuted in this office. Ms. Hobart handles her own appeals in addition to supervising other attorneys who do the same, and a number of her cases have resulted in published opinions.

She also prosecutes forfeiture cases and serves as a legal resource to other attorneys and law enforcement both inside and outside the office. Ms. Hobart currently sits on the faculty of the Reading Police Academy, and she is a former member of the faculty at the Reading Area Community College.

In addition to Pennsylvania courts, she is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Ms. Hobart is also a member of the Pennsylvania District Attorney's Association, where she currently serves on the Amicus Committee, as well as the National District Attorney's Association and the Berks County Bar Association.

She graduated from The Dickinson School of Law in 1994 where she was a member of the Irving R. Kauffman Securities Appellate Moot Court Team and the Trial Moot Court Board. Ms. Hobart is also active within her church and community.
