CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ARREST
James Millette (32 years of age)

CHARGES: Sexual Abuse of Children related to the Dissemination and Possession of Child Pornography (F2) and violating the Uniform Criminal Extradition Act
DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, the Berks County Detective’s Office received a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (N.C.M.E.C.), involving Child Pornography file sharing utilizing an internet/web application.
During the investigation, detectives learned that an individual uploaded a digital file of suspected Child Pornography on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, utilizing an Internet Protocol (I.P.) address.
Detectives identified the Billing Account associated with I.P. address to the following subscriber name and address:
Subscriber Name / James Millette
Subscriber Address / 1671 N. 9th Street, Floor 3, Reading, Pennsylvania 19604
The Berks County Detectives also verified that the cellular telephone number associated with the billing account is registered to James Millette.
Additionally, detectives were able to upload digital images from that account and concluded that these images were Child Pornography.
Subsequently, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, detectives obtained a search warrant for 1671 N. 9th Street, 3rd Floor Apt., Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania 19604.
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, at approximately 7:32 A.M., the Berks County Detectives served the aforementioned search warrant. The defendant was present and he was placed under arrest.
An on-site preview of (1) one of the computers found inside the apartment was conducted. The on-site preview yielded hundreds of digital images of suspected Child Pornography.
Seized from inside the apartment were numerous computer and digital items. These items were submitted for further forensic examination by the Berks County District Attorney’s Computer Forensic Unit.
Through the course of this investigation, the Berks County Detectives learned that James Millette was a fugitive from the State of Maine. He was wanted relative to an outstanding warrant from the State of Maine relative to Child Pornography Possession.
The State Police in Maine confirmed the warrant for James Millette and extradition back to the State of Maine.
The defendant, James Millette was transported to the Central Processing Center located at the Berks County Courthouse. He will be fingerprinted and photographed.
As a result of the investigation, James Millette was charged with (2) two counts of Sexual Abuse of Children related to the Dissemination and Possession of Child Pornography as well as violating the Uniform Criminal Extradition Act.
Bail was set in the amount of $350,000. He remains in Berks County Jail awaiting further court action.
The Berks County Detective’s Office was assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lower Heidelberg Township Police Department and Reading Police Department.
A Criminal Complaint is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
