CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ARREST

Detectives from our District Attorney's Child Abuse Unit and a Lower Heidelberg Township Detective Sergeant arrested Jon Gregory Naff in connection with a child pornography investigation.

In September 2013, detectives initiated an investigation into sharing of child pornography via the internet. During the investigation, detectives identified a computer with an Internet Protocol (IP) Address of a potential candidate for files of investigative interest.

On January 9, 2014, detectives obtained and served a search warrant for the residence of 284 Conrad Road, Alburtis, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Jon Gregory Naff was present at this residence. Detectives seized a laptop computer and a DVD (digital video disc). Following the seizure of Naff's laptop computer and DVD, a forensic examination was conducted. As a result of that examination, detectives recovered approximately 300 digital images of child pornography from the laptop and the DVD contained over 2,000 images of child pornography.

On January 22, 2014, detectives obtained a warrant of arrest for Jon Gregory Naff on the charges of Possession of Child Pornography, Dissemination of Photos/Films of Child Pornography. The warrant was issued by Magisterial District Judge Victor M. Frederick. On January 23, 2014, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Naff was taken into custody at his residence.

Naff was arraigned at the Berks County Central Processing Center by Magisterial District Judge Michael Hartman. Bail was set at $250,000. Naff was committed to Berks County Jail.
