Joshua Seifrit, age 26
On June 21, 2018, the Berks County Detectives initiated a child pornography investigation after receiving information from the Shillington Police Department that they were in custody of a laptop computer that contained child pornography.
Detectives took custody of the laptop computer. The computer was subsequently examined forensically by the Berks County District Attorney's Computer Forensic Unit. Several digital files that included images and videos of child pornography were found on the seized laptop.
An investigation revealed that the defendant, Joshua Seifrit, was in possession of the laptop during the time the images and videos were downloaded.
On August 6, 2018, detectives obtained a warrant of arrest for the defendant from Magisterial District Judge Brian Strand on the aforementioned charges. The defendant surrendered to detectives on August 7, 2018. He was taken to the Berks County Sheriff's Department Central Processing Center. Bail was set at $50,000 unsecured bail. He remains out on bail until further court action.
