 Drug Investigation into Cocaine Trafficking

Charges:  Possession With the Intent to Deliver Cocaine & OxyContin; Possession of Cocaine & OxyContin; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

In September of 2016, the Berks County Drug Task Force Detectives initiated a drug investigation after receiving complaints for concerned citizens regarding possible drug trafficking occurring at 1442 Muhlenberg Street, Reading.

During the investigation, detectives learned that David A. Arriet-Negron lived at 1442 Muhlenberg Street and was distributing cocaine from the residence.

On Thursday, October 27, 2016, based on information received and investigated conducted, the Berks County Drug Task Force Detectives obtained a search warrant from Magisterial District Judge Phyllis J. Kowalski for Arriet-Negron's residence at 1442 Muhlenberg Street, Reading.

On October 28, 2016, at 6:28 a.m., the Berks County Drug Task Force Detectives along with the Reading Police Vice Unit detectives served the aforementioned search warrant. Arriet-Negron was present at the time of the search warrant.

As a result of the search warrant, detectives found and seized the following items:

  • approximately 56 grams of cocaine (street value of $5,600)
  • 53 OxyContin tablets (street value of $1,060)
  • 2 Glock .40 caliber semi-auto fully loaded handguns
  • approximately $2,099 in U.S. Currency (believed to be proceeds of sales of marijuana)
  • one cellular telephone
  • numerous packaging materials related to cocaine
  • 1 digital gram scale

Subsequently, David A. Arriet-Negron was transported to the Berks County Sheriff's Department Central Processing Center for processing and video arraignment. Bail was set at $50,000 and bail was posted on October 29, 2016. He remains free on bail until further court action.
