Peter Cortes-Sigmund, age 34
In September of 2018, the Berks County District Attorney's Drug Task Force Detectives initiated a drug investigation based on information that Peter Cortes-Sigmund was distributing methamphetamine.
During the investigation, undercover purchases of suspected Methamphetamine were made from Cortes-Sigmund in the City of Reading.
On Friday, October 18, 2018, Cortes-Sigmund was taken into custody for a delivery of 59 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover Berks County Detective that occurred in the beginning of September of 2018.
At the time of the arrest, Cortes-Sigmund was in possession of approximately four ounces (115 grams) of methamphetamine he possessed with the intent to sell.
The total street value of the methamphetamine seized on October 18, 2018, was $2,200.00
The defendant was charged with:
- Delivery of a Controlled Substance
- Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was transported to the Berks County Sheriff's Central Processing Center for processing and arraignment by the on-duty District Judge. Bail was set at $250,000.00. He is currently in Berks County Jail awaiting further court proceedings.
