​Two Drug Investigations into Marijuana Sales

DETAILS OF INCIDENT CASE 1: From October to November 2013, the District Attorney's Drug Task Force initiated a drug investigation involving the suspect(s), Damon McFarlen and Eric Cobb, Jr. On Wednesday, October 15, 2013, detectives obtained a search warrant for Damon McFarlen's residence located at 1012 Muhlenberg Street, Reading, PA.

During the investigation, detectives learned that a Damon McFarlen of 1012 Muhlenberg Street, Reading, PA, along with an Eric Cobb, Jr., were responsible for dealing quantities of marijuana to customers within the City of Reading, Berks County. McFarlen and Cobb used cellular devices to facilitate the delivery of Marijuana in the 1000 block of Muhlenberg Street (right across from Amanda Stoudt Elementary School). The Berks County Detectives did make several purchases of marijuana from the suspect(s) in exchange for U.S. Currency.

On October 15, 2013, at approximately 6:35 a.m. narcotics detectives along with the Reading Police Vice Unit and the FBI served a search warrant at 1012 Muhlenberg Street, Reading, Berks County, PA. The search warrant was for the Schedule I Controlled Substance of Marijuana and related paraphernalia. The warrant was issued by District Judge Michael Leonardziak.

As a result of the search, the following items were seized:

  • one bulk bag of hi-grade marijuana (street value of $450.00)
  • two other smaller amounts of marijuana
  • packaging material for marijuana distribution
  • a stolen Taurus 9mm PT-11 semi-auto handgun w/ 10 rounds
  • three workable cellular telephones
  • one digital scale
  • documents related to suspects
  • over $400.00 U.S. Currency; believed to be proceeds from previous Marijuana sales

At the time the detectives raided the residence, the suspects (McFarlen & Cobb) were present and were placed under arrest.

Subsequently, the suspects were transported to the Berks County Sheriff's Department Central Processing Center for processing and arraignment.

 

DETAILS OF INCIDENT CASE 2:

From October to November of 2013, the District Attorney's Drug Task Force initiated a drug investigation involving the suspect, Jean Junior Timothee. On Wednesday, October 15, 2013, Detectives obtained a search warrant for Jean Junior Timothee's residence located at 2129 Fairview Street, West Lawn, Berks County, PA.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Jean Junior Timothee of 2129 Fairview Street, West Lawn, PA, was responsible for dealing qualtities of marijuana to customers within Spring Township, West Lawn, Berks County, PA. Timothee utilized cellular devices to facilitate the delivery of drugs in the area of the 2100 block of Fairview Street. The Berks County Detectives made several purchases of marijuana from the suspect in exchance of U.S. Currency.

On October 15, 2013, at approximately 9:30 a.m. narcotics detectives along with the Spring Township Police Department and the FBI served a search warrant at 2129 Fairview Street, West Lawn, Berks County, PA. The search warrants were for the Schedule I Controlled Substance of Marijuana and related paraphernalia. The warrant was issued by District Judge Ann Young.

As a result of the search, the following items were seized:

  • three bulk bags of hi-grade marijuana (street value of $1200.00)
  • 22 smaller bags of marijuana (street value of $440.00)
  • packaging material used for marijuana distribution
  • one workable cellular telephone
  • one digital scale
  • documents related to the suspect

At the time the detectives raided the residence, the suspect (Timothee) was not present. Timothee returned to the residence approximately one hour later and was placed under arrest.

Subsequently, Timothee was transported to the Berks County Sheriff's Department Central Processing Center for processing and arraignment.
