SEXUAL CHILD ABUSE ARREST

CHARGES:   Endangering Welfare of Children (F3)
                      Corruption of Minors (M1)
                      Indecent Assault (M2)
 
DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
 
On Friday, October 26, 2018, the Berks County Detective’s Office received a Childline Referral from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, relative to the defendant having inappropriate sexual contact with a child.
 
The investigation was immediately assigned to the Berks County Detective’s Office.
 
On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, the victim was interviewed at the Berks County Detective’s Office.
 
During this recorded interview, the victim who is a (29) twenty-nine year old male, disclosed that the sexual assaults occurred between January 1998 and January 2004, when he was approximately (9) nine to (15) fifteen years old.
 
The victim was a member of a youth soccer team during the aforementioned time period.
 
The victim identified the suspect as Keith Buch, who was the father of one of his friends and a teammate for the same soccer team.
 
The victim explained that from January 1998 through January 2004, he spent many nights at Keith Buch’s residence for a sleepover. It was during these sleepovers at the Buch residence, that the defendant Keith Buch, had inappropriate sexual contact with the victim.
 
On Thursday, December 20, 2018, members of the Berks County Detective’s Office interviewed the defendant, Keith Buch.
 
During this recorded interview, Keith Buch did admit to having inappropriate sexual contact with the victim and confirmed that these offenses occurred at his residence in Fleetwood, Berks County, Pennsylvania. The defendant has since moved and no longer resides at this Fleetwood residence.
 
On Monday, January 14, 2019, the Berks County Detective’s Office filed the aforementioned criminal charges at Magisterial District Judge Gail Greth’s Office.
 
The defendant, Keith Buch, surrendered to the Berks County Detectives and was immediately arraigned by MDJ Gail Greth. Bail was set at $25,000.00 unsecured and Keith Buch was released pending the Preliminary Hearing.
