Veterans Court Phase Requirements

VETERANS TREATMENT COURT

PHASE REQUIREMENTS & EXPECTATIONS

PHASE I - Induction & Orientation (30 days)

  • attend court sessions bi-weekly
  • weekly contact with probation officer
  • attend urine testing 2x/week
  • meet with VJO for treatment planning
  • meet with the mentor coordinator
  • write an essay for the Judge on "Why You are Ready to Advance to Phase II"
  • 30 days sobriety for advancement

PHASE II - Individualized Treatment Plan (90 days)

  • attend court sessions bi-weekly
  • bi-weekly contact with probation officer
  • attend urine testing 2x/week
  • comply with all facets of treatment planning as directed by VJO
  • secure a mentor and meet with your mentor on a weekly basis
  • attend all VA appointments
  • attend all counseling sessions
  • attain a temporary AA/NA sponsor, if assessed as chemically dependent
  • 60 days sobriety for phase advancement

PHASE III - Reintegration & Stabilization (90-180 days)

  • attend court sessions bi-weekly
  • monthly contact with probation officer
  • attend UDS 2x/week if chemically dependent; 1x/month otherwise
  • comply with all facets of treatment planning as directed by VJO
  • meet with your mentor bi-weekly
  • attend all VA appointments
  • attend all counseling sessions
  • attain a permanent AA/NA sponsor & home group if chemically dependent
  • complete 48 hours of community service if unemployed; 16 hours if employed full-time
  • establish employment, schooling, or vocational training
  • begin payment plan if sentenced
  • minimum 90 days sobriety for phase advancement

PHASE IV - Long-Tern Recovery (90-180 days)

  • attend court sessions monthly
  • monthly contact with probation officer
  • attend UDS 1x/week if chemically dependent; 1x/month otherwise
  • comply with all facets of treatment planning as directed by VJO
  • meet with your mentor monthly
  • attend all VA appointments
  • attend all counseling sessions
  • maintain regular contact with your AA/NA sponsor & home group if chemically dependent
  • complete required community service hours
  • continue or complete employment, schooling, or vocational training
  • comply with payment plan
  • meet with mentor coordinator about future mentorship role
  • minimum 90 days sobriety prior to GRADUATION
