Employment

Applications for Correctional Officers positions are accepted at all times. Applications for other positions are posted to this website and elsewhere, as openings occur. Resumes submitted without a Berks County Employment application will be considered incomplete and will be returned for resubmission with an application.
 
Applications not selected for processing will be kept on file for two (2) years but will only be considered "active" for one year from the date of application.
 
Active applications may be reviewed and forwarded to other county departments for consideration for positions similar to the one(s) listed on the application.
 
An applicant who wishes to apply for a different jail position from the one(s) listed on the original application must contact the Jail Human Resources Department with the request.  The Human Resources Department will then forward the application to the appropriate department for consideration.
 
"Inactive" applications will not be reviewed for employment at the jail or forwarded to other county departments.  Applicants must submit a new application after one year.
