"It's OK to talk about mental illness...There is no shame in seeking help...There is hope after diagnosis... The only thing shameful about mental illness is the stigma attached to it. It is quite likely that one day you, one of your friends, colleagues or family members will experience a mental health problem. Yet mental illness is still surrounded by prejudice, ignorance and fear."
How can we challenge Stigma?
Six-Word Memoirs is a project founded by the U.S. based online storytelling magazine Smith Magazine. Taking a cue from novelist Ernest Hemmingway, who, according to literary legend, was once challenged to write a short story in only six words. Hemmingway's six-word story read: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."
We challenge you to think about your life and your life experiences. We would love to hear what BERKS community members' six-word memoirs are.
Ours? "Labels are for jars: NOT PEOPLE."
PLEASE submit your six word memoir here by clicking "Add new item" below.
