2019 Schedule

 

Take a break this holiday season to walk through beautiful Gring’s Mill park to see a multitude of lights and displays, highlighting the historical buildings and landscaping along the Tulpehocken creek. Warm up in the barn by the fireplace and enjoy live entertainment each night from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. (see full entertainment schedule below)

Kids will look forward to visiting Santa in the lower level of the barn & telling him their wish list. Bring your camera for pictures!

All ages enjoy watching model trains wind their way through the miniature town in the former Generating Station on the bridge. Built and operated by Park volunteers and members of the Pottstown & Reading Chapter of the National Historical Railway Society.

Light refreshments available. Admission is $5.00 per car

    Sit back and relax as the Mount Laurel Brass takes you on a Christmas musical journey featuring classical, sacred hymns, children’s songs, carols and contemporary Christmas music in various styles from around the globe.Santa’s reindeer will stop by Gring’s Mill park for kids of all ages to visit on Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, December 14 between 6-9 pm.  The reindeer are courtesy of Spruce Run Farm, which is a family farm in northeastern Pennsylvania.  Be sure to bring your cameras for some great photos with live reindeer!

    1-4 pm:  Kid’s Holiday Workshop & Holiday Movies- Bring pillows & blankets to enjoy The Polar Express.  Kids can also make crafts to decorate your home or tree at our craft stations around the barn.  Visit with Santa for a treat, and check out our model train display.  Free admission

    Polished Brass quintet performs a wide variety of brass music, ranging from the classics to contemporary.  Through the years, these five brass players, originally from the Pottstown Band, have played in various locations even at an art show!  With their vast experience and unique approach this show promises to put you in the mood for holiday fun.

    “Old Time Christmas Songs & Instruments” with Keith Brintzenhoff
    Listen to some old-time Christmas songs, with some old-time instruments. Sing along to the most popular Thanksgiving song ever written. Continue with the silliest Dutch/English/Spanish Christmas song, and end with the holiest one, in German.    (Shows at 6:30 and 7:30 pm)  www.toadcreekmusic.com
    Watch as large blocks of ice are carved into cool seasonal works of art by Sculpted Ice Works, on Thursday, December 12 and Thursday, December 19.  Our ice carvers are members of the National Ice Carving Association, and will answer questions while they work!  Owner and lead carver, Mark Crouthamel is an award winning carver and has over twenty years of experience carving ice.

    The Berks Holiday Tubadors is a low brass ensemble comprised of local musicians who also play in various Brass groups, Concert Bands and other musical organizations throughout the Greater Berks and beyond area.  Their holiday repertoire includes familiar music, traditional and non-traditional carols as well as a variety of “sing-a-long” pieces encouraging audience participation.

    Experience the beauty and elegance of harp and classical guitar music with the Williams Duo.   Sarajane is a signed recording artist, and Ted has an extensive classical repertoire, but is also well versed at playing jazz on the classical guitar.  They have performed together for more than 25 years, playing at concerts, festivals and special events.  Sarajane and Ted also operate Macungie Music Studios where they offer lessons on harp and classical guitar.

    Harrisburg Mandolin Ensemble -Inspired by the early 20th century tradition of the community mandolin orchestra, the Harrisburg Mandolin Ensemble is a quintet of experienced musicians with a deep, rich sound.  The flexibility of their small group allows them to explore the tonal range from the mandolin to the mando bass, offering an eclectic assortment of music from Bach to bluegrass, jazz and roots music

    The Little Lehigh Band is a two-family member band of talented musicians ranging in age from 8 to 19 years old. They specialize in bluegrass, folk and Celtic music with seasonings of Irish Step Dancing and vocal favorites.
