Information contained here was compiled and published by the U.S. Census Bureau. These four-page 'Profiles' have a combination of 'short-form' data and 'long-form' data. 'Short-form' information was collected from everyone, whereas 'Long-form' information is a statistical sample from one-in-six households. Each profile is broken into four tables:
TABLE 1: Profile of General Demographic Characteristics; contains total population, age, gender, race/hispanic origin, total housing units;
TABLE 2: Profile of Selected Social Characteristics; contains school enrollment, educational attainment, marital status, migration, ancestry, language;
TABLE 3: Profile of Selected Economic Characteristics; contains income, poverty, employment, and commuting patterns;
TABLE 4: Profile of Selected Housing Characteristics; contains housing age, size, heating fuel, rent, mortgage, housing costs.

SPECIAL NOTES: On January 7, 2001, Wyomissing Hills Borough was officially merged into and became part of Wyomissing Borough. On January 1, 2006, West Lawn Borough was officially merged into and became part of Spring Township. For those comparing to 1990, Temple Borough officially merged with and became part of Muhlenberg Township effective January 1, 1999.
