Berks County Data Book

After more than 30 years of faithful service, the venerable Berks County Data Book was totally revised in 2004.  The new Data Book features consistent layouts, more mapping, less clutter, and an overall neater look in a much smaller package.  Additionally, the new Data Book--now that it's been totally revised--can be obtained electronically in its entirety.  Complete chapters are available in Adobe .PDF format, while maps and tables are available as either .PDF files or the original Excel spreadsheets.  Now that it is available online, updates and additions will be available throughout the year instead of annually.  New for 2005--the complete edition available as an Adobe .PDF file!

We want your feedback on the Data Book.  Is it useful?  Are there items from the old book that aren't included that you'd like to see?  Let us know; contact us by phone, fax, or email (planning@countyofberks.com).  If you need printed copies, contact our offices.  Printed copies are free, but you will be invoiced $2.00 each for postage.

Due to time and staffing limitations, the version on this page is the most up-to-date.  Pieces will be updated and published as time permits.  Call the office if there's something you need that's not here.

NOTE:  EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2006, THE BOROUGH OF WEST LAWN CEASED TO EXIST AFTER MERGING WITH SPRING TOWNSHIP.

There are some items for you to be aware of.
1.  Since all maps were created outside of the Excel environment, they are available only in Adobe .PDF format.

2.  Excel spreadsheets contain blank columns and merged cells in order to "look good".  If you wish to manipulate the data, you may have to remove those blank columns and merged cells.  In addition, headers and footers (sheet titles and page numbers) will not show on the screen, but will show in downloaded/printed versions.
