About Berks County Solid Waste Authority (SWA)
The Berks County Solid Waste Authority was established by the Berks County Commissioners on August 19, 1992. The role of the Solid Waste Authority is to protect the health and welfare of the residents of Berks County and to provide a means whereby Berks County can effectively and efficiently (a) manage and (b) implement the Solid Waste Plan.
The Recycling Center at 1316 Hilltop Road, Leesport is now under video surveillance and illegal dumpers are being cited. Please do not leave anything at the center that is not listed as an acceptable material on the containers. Please read all signs at the site so that you are not cited for illegal dumping.  Absolutely no styrofoam is permitted to be dropped off at this center.  This center is open 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

The app & website plug-in, developed by Recycle Coach, provides residents with a full range of information that is normally on the website or in the collection schedule that is distributed by Berks County. But now residents don’t have to go hunting for the printed schedule or be sitting in front of their computers. Instead, by downloading Recycle Coach™, Berks County residents can check details for regular and special collections and events for household hazardous waste or e-waste days, and more.
Special features of Berks County Recycle Coach™ app & website plug-in include a search function that lets residents quickly find information about what to do with a regular or out-of-the-ordinary item, plus there are tips for reducing and recycling waste in apartment and condo buildings.
