A. Dennis Adams, CPA
 
Dennis Adams was elected Treasurer of Berks County in 2014. Prior to his election, Dennis had more than 35 years of business experience. From 2002 to 2013 Dennis served as a business consultant, business broker and CFO for multiple organizations. His primary focus was on business valuation, daily financial operations, and financial turn-around. From 1971 to 2002 Dennis worked in the public utilities industry with responsibilities ranging from budgeting, system development, accounting, auditing and strategic business planning. Additionally, Dennis is a past instructor of Business Systems at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and an instructor at Alvernia University for the Certified Management Accounting review course.
 
Treasurer Adams graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in economics and received the University Scholar award. He then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh’s Executive MBA program with honors. In 1983 Mr. Adams was awarded the Certified Management Accounting designation. In 1997 he became a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
 
Treasurer Adams has been an active member of the community for nearly 30 years and has donated significant time to such efforts as United Way of Berks County, the Red Cross and the Caron Foundation. He is an active member of multiple Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountant groups, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a past President of the Reading Chapter and Mid-Atlantic region of the Institute of Management Accountants. Mr. Adams is a member of the County Treasurers’ Association – Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Government Finance Officers Association of Pennsylvania.
