The Berks County Department of Veterans Affairs office has relocated to its new facility at 726 Cherry Street, Reading PA. The site for the Berks County Department of Veterans Affairs was named by the Berks County Board of Commissioners on July 30th, as the Chief Master Sergeant Richard L. Etchberger, USAF Veterans Center of Berks County to honor the valor and personal sacrifice of Medal of Honor recipient Etchberger, formerly of Hamburg, during the Vietnam War.

The Berks County 66th Armed Forces Day Parade, the oldest Armed Forces Day Parade in the nation, will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 beginning at 10:00 AM.  The theme this year is "Keeping the Peace."  Staging for the parade will be in the Vanity Fair parking lot.  The parade will begin in the 800 block of Penn Avenue in Wyomissing, follow Penn Avenue east through West Reading and end at the 300 block of South 7th Avenue in West Reading.
