Title

The Sheeler Home, The House Along the Tully

Location

Berks Leisure Area-Picnic Pavilion

Description

This stone home, now offices for the Recreation and Park Ranger staffs, was built by William E. Sheeler Sr. between 1940 and 1945, the lengthy construction period was caused by wartime shortages of materials and labor.  Fred Sheeler, grandson and current Recorder of Deeds, will present this outdoor walking tour of the site and share with us the history of this unique home and how it came to be a part of the Berks County Parks System.
