Please Note: The right-of-way width of most township roads is 33 feet, or 16.5 feet from the roadway centerline. Your cooperation is appreciated in removing any items within the roadway right-of-way.
An encroachment is any object placed without permission within the legal limits of a road right-of-way. Some examples include signs, fences, walls, and lights. Objects generally are not permitted in the right-of-way unless the objects serve an official highway purpose (utility poles and properly placed mailboxes are exceptions). Any object placed within the right-of-way without permission may be subject to removal.
