On March 7, 2006, an updated zoning ordinance was adopted by the Board of Supervisors which brings the Township’s zoning into conformity with the Governor Mifflin Area Joint Comprehensive Plan adopted on March 8, 2005. The ordinance establishes regulations and restrictions for the location and use of lots, land, buildings and other structures, bulk of buildings and structures, density of population, off-street parking and similar accessory regulations, divides the Township into districts, prescribes certain uniform regulations for each district and provides for administrative enforcement and amendment of its provisions in accordance with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, as amended. Provisions for variances or special exceptions from the zoning ordinance are administered by the Zoning Hearing Board.  Questions regarding violations of the ordinance and identifying the type of violation which has occurred should be submitted in writing to the Zoning Officer with your name, address and telephone number included to facilitate investigation of the complaint. The names of those filing complaints will be kept confidential. Copies of the zoning ordinance and zoning map are available for purchase at the Township office.
