Our Mission Statement
To enhance the quality and effectiveness of Township recreation resources, to encourage the use and enjoyment of Township recreation facilities by its residents and to stimulate cooperative planning for their improvements.
The Park and Recreation Board consists of five residents who serve as volunteers appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Park and Recreation Board makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors with regard to planning and structuring of the township parks. They are also responsible for planning and conducting the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Community Day.
The Park and Recreation Board meets the first Monday of the month.

 
PARK RENTALS
 The pavilions at Ironstone Park and at the Township Building are available for rent.  Reservations for the coming season are not accepted until February 1st of each year.

HUNTING
2013 Dates: September 21 - January 25
Hunting in Goose Run Park and the Township owned land is permitted by Township residents who obtain a license at the Township Office. 
Goose Run Park consists of approximately 82 acres, which can be accessed from Goose Run Road or Levengood Road.  Hunting is also permitted at 900 Douglass Drive, Lots #1 and #2 (approximately 73 acres) on the property owned by the Township.
Hunting is open to Townshp residents only, however each licensed resident may bring a non resident guest, who must also be registered with the Township.  Maps are available at the Township Office.
Rifles are not permitted.
You must provide a copy of your PA State Hunting License as well as drivers license.  You will be required to sign a form agreeing to abide by the State Laws as well as Douglass Township Rules.
THE HIKING TRAIL WILL REMAIN OPEN, SO PLEASE BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF HIKERS
SEASON RUNS: 2013 (to be determined)
 
COMMUNITY DAY
The first Saturday in October is set aside for Douglass Township Community Day.  All games and activities are free.  There is food for sale, and live music.  Please join your neighbors for this fun day of community fellowship.
 
EASTER EGG HUNT
Each year, the week before Easter, the Township hosts an Egg Hunt for township children.  Pre-registration is required so we know how many to expect.  There is a scramble for all age groups from toddlers to sixth graders.  There are prize eggs for all age groups. The Easter Bunny is available for picture so bring your cameras!
 

IRONSTONE PARK NEWS

The construction of an additional 20' x 40' pavilion has been completed, and is ready for rental. Thanks to Kurt Bullock of Boy Scout Troop #523 the pavilion now has  ten new picnic tables that Kurt constructed as his Eagle Scout Project.

Call the Township office to reserve the new pavilion.
