Building Code information

      The State of Pennsylvania has passed Act 45 of 1999 which establishes a Uniform Construction Code for all new construction in Pennsylvania.  All municipalities will be subject to this new regulation and were given the option to "opt in" and retain their own building code enforcement officer to do the inspections, or "opt out" in which case each homeowner would have to find and hire their own building inspector.  The Greenwich Township Board of Supervisors held a workshop on April 29, 2004 to advise the public and to receive comments and opinions.  In light of the majority opinion, the Board decided at their May meeting to "opt in" and retain their own Building Code Enforcement Officer to ensure inspections that are timely and enforced in a uniform manner.   On June 7, 2004 the Board adopted Ordinance #2004-1 enacting the PA Uniform Construction Code. The code enforcement officer is:
