The Mayor will declare a Snow Emergency when a storm is predicted to exceed 3 inches. In a declared Snow Emergency, all Snow Emergency routes will restrict parking per Ordinance #433. Plowing on the emergency routes is conducted curb to curb. The emergency routes are New Holland Road, South Kenhorst Boulevard, Columbia Avenue, High Boulevard and Upland Avenue. Please have a plan as to where you will park your car in advance of a predicted snow event.
Plowing will begin at 3 inch snow depth. After the snow stops, intersections will be cleared and storm drains opened provided there is room to get equipment in safely. Please be patient - the public works crew will work to clear all roads but the first priority is to clear the emergency routes.
Property owners are required to remove snow and ice from adjacent sidewalks within 12 hours after a storm and are asked to keep fire hydrants clear. Residents who cast snow onto the street will be cited, "No Exceptions".
PLEASE NOTE - curb to curb plowing is done only on the designated Snow Emergency routes when a Snow Emergency is declared. Plowing done on the remaining borough streets is done to provide clear driving lanes.
