Latest News: SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH

Title

SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH

Body

September is National Preparedness Month and the theme is, "Prepared, Not Scared".

In the past year, Pennsylvanians have experienced historic rain and flooding in areas that have never flooded before.  Recent data shows that a significant number of homes affected by flooding were not in a flood zone and many found the recovery process to be challenging, if not completely insurmountable.  Just as an emergency can affect an entire community, the entire community is part of the solution when it comes to preparing for and recovering from an emergency.  You can be better prepared by participating in the 30 Days, 30 Ways campaign, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and our county emergency management partners.

If it is predictable, it is preventable.  We all know that we get rain, flooding, power outages, heat, cold, and snow.  "Prepared, Not Scared" focuses on the conscious decision to get started now, before it is too late.  Get on the path to being prepared by signing up for 30 Days, 30 Ways where you will receive a number of tips and information that can save a life.

Be Informed, Be Prepared, and Be Involved - 30 Days, 30 Ways can help you and your loved ones be "Prepared, Not Scared".

Please see the attached Action Sheet for details on how to sign up.
