HOT Summer Concerts
The Muhlenberg Township Arts Board is once again sponsoring the annual Summer Concert Series. This seasonal staple will heat things up while you stay cool in the air conditioned comfort of the Muhlenberg High School auditorium located at Sharp and Frances streets in Laureldale. Dates for these performances are as follows; Saturday, June 11 the well-known Reading Pops; Thursday, June 16 TBA ; Thursday June 23 will feature the Red Hill Band out of Montgomery County playing marches, show tunes and other traditional concert band music; and Thursday, June 30 a trio of performers will bring Jill Haley’s music to life which was inspired by various National Parks. 2016 is the centennial celebration of the formation of the National Park Service. A video presentation will be showing the places in the park that inspired the compositions. The Muhlenberg Arts Board enjoys putting together this great line up of musical entertainers for this year’s concerts. Doors for the concerts open at 6:30 p.m. and performances are from 7 to 9 p.m.. There will be a short intermission with each show. The cost to enter is just $3/ person/ show.

All That Jazz
The Sounds of Jazz will be coming from Laurel Run Park (Leisz’s Bridge and River Roads) on Thursday, April 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.. The many-talented students from the Muhlenberg Intermediate, Middle and H.S. will be performing Jazz during the Concert in the Park. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to watch them perform at this free concert. Lunchtime food items can be purchased at the park.
