Muhlenberg Lions Club
Want to meet the Lions and find out more about us and what we do?  The annual Spring Pancake and Sausage Breakfast will be held in April at a date to be announced.  Keep your eyes open for the signs enjoy a hearty breakfast at a reasonable pricet, and a good opportunity to talk to us.  We are always looking for a few good men and women to join our ranks and help give something back to our community.  We support the Association for the Blind, the Muhlenberg Food Bank, the Muhlenberg High School Leo club, the largest in the state, the Community Library, and the Area Ambulance Association, among others.  We are selling brooms again and hope to have a stand somewhere in early spring, just in time for your clean up.  For membership information, call Lion Larry Nester at 610-929-5494.

Muhlenberg Garden Club
The Muhlenberg Garden Club's (formerly Laureldale Garden Club) November meeting was held at the Muhlenberg Community Library

Our club does not meet in Jan. Feb. or March.  We will resume meetings on Wednesday, April 3rd at the Muhlenberg Rec. Bldg. at 7  p.m.  At this meeting we will have a demonstration of "Floral Design" by Carol Shoppes Florist.  THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC...come join us:  no admission and snacks will be served.  If you plan to attend, contact Barbara Sensenig at 610-929-2673.  Deadline for reservations, March 27.  May 1,  we will have a Dried Flower Workshop presented by two of our members.

Look for us at the Muhl. Community Spring Flea Market, May 11.  These are two opportuinties to meet some of our members and see what our club is all about.  If you want to get acquainted with all phases of horiculture, this is the club for you.  We have guest speakers, make and take workshops, plant exchange, garden visitations  and so much more!!!   We usually meet the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. April thru December.  If you have an questions, don't hesitate to contact our President, Grace Kline at 610- 929-2294.

Muhlenberg Ice Hockey Association
Come out and cheer for your Elementary, Middle School, and Varsity ice hockey teams at Body Zone. Game schedules are on the website, or friend us on Facebook. Thinking about playing next year? It's not too early to pre-register for season 2013-2014. Muhlenberg Hockey promotes co-ed scholastic ice hockey for grades 1-12. Numerous fundraising programs are offered through the club. Take advantage of skating/hockey programs offered at Body Zone during the off-season to improve your skills.  See you on the ice!

Muhlenberg Athletics Baseball
The Muhlenberg A’s will be holding their annual “All You Can Eat” Pasta Dinner, Saturday, February 23, 3 to 8 p.m. in the Muhlenberg High School Cafeteria. Adults tickets are $8, children under 12 are $5.  Take out is available, bring your own containers.

The Muhlenberg A’s will be holding sign-ups for the 2013 summer baseball season on January 19 & 20 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Muhlenberg Township Recreation Building on River Road.  All boys, who are ages 13 to 19 and are residents of the Muhlenberg School District are welcome to sign up.  Any questions, call Rick Frank, 610-921-3561.

Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Assn.
The Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Assn. is celebrating  50 years of service to the community and surrounding areas. Organized by the Muhlenberg Lions Club in 1963, the Muhlenberg Ambulance Assn. stands ready – 24/7 – to meet your emergency care needs. The Assn. maintains 4 ambulances and a paramedic squad truck staffed by a paid staff of fully qualified EMT’s and paramedics. The Ambulance also provides CPR and first aid training to the public. Senior Woman's Club

Ladies Night Out Basket Bash at Holy Guardian Angels Regional School – The 2nd Annual Ladies Night Out Basket Bash will be held on Saturday, April 6th.  This basket raffle offers over 75 chances to win.  Basket themes include: tailgating, movie night, car care, sports and many, many more!  No food will be served – but you are welcome to bring your own snacks.  Soda, water, beer, wine and specialty drinks will be for sale throughout the night.  Or bring your own if you have a favorite.  Event Tickets are $15 or $115 for a table of 8.  Doors open at 5:00 PM, raffle begins at 7:00 PM.  Tickets are available at the school office, church rectory or by contacting Anne Malinowski at 610-780-7304.

$5 for adults; $3 for children ages 4 to 12; ages 3 and under are free.  The profit will be given to Mary's Shelter.  Mary's Shelter provides temporary housing for pregnant young women, with coordinating counseling, education and prenatal care.

3/15/13, Crab Cake Dinner, 5 to 8 p.m.  Cost is $11.00, includes one (5.0-5.5 oz) crab cake, baked potato, homemade pepper cabbage, drinks and dessert. Extra crab cakes can be purchased for $6 each.
Eat in or take out available.  The profit will be split between the Mission Group going to Nashville, Tennessee and the Venture Crew.

Laureldale Recreation Board
Dominic Manzella Park has a lot to offer; there you will find a covered pavilion with a full kitchen, facilities for sand pit volleyball, horseshoes and quoits.

The Board is always looking for new members. The recreation board meets the last Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Laureldale Borough Hall, 3406 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA.  Our main goal is to make sure the Laureldale playgrounds and parks are safe and fun places for our children. You must be a Laureldale Borough resident to be a member of the recreation board.

Diakon Volunteer Home Care
Are you aware that there are services available in your area of Berks County in the form of transportation to medical, social service appointments, and grocery shopping for people aged 60 and above?  Services are provided free of charge.  If you are age 60 and above, can get in and out of a car independently, and are having difficulty with transportation to much needed services, please call our office.  We may be able to help.

If you are someone who has an hour or so to spare and would like to help a senior in your community, please call our office. 

Diakon Volunteer Home Care is an interfaith outreach ministry responding to the needs of the community by offering help to individuals aged 60 and above through the support of caring volunteers.
