Muhlenberg Night at the Fightin’ Phils
The Muhlenberg Parks and Recreation Department is once again partnering with the "new" Reading Fightin’ Phils to offer a Muhlenberg Night at the First Energy Stadium. Mark your calendars for this year’s event to be held on Saturday, May 18th. The Township and participating sponsors will be handing out free general admission ticket to this game. The game will start at 6:35 p.m. against the Harrisburg Senators which is an affiliate team of the Washington Nationals. As a special treat there will be postgame fireworks! Visit the Park Office after May 6 to obtain your free tickets. Let’s show the Reading Fightin Phills just how much spirit Muhlenberg has by attending this game. Call the Parks Office at 610-929-1503 if you are a business within the Muhlenberg area that would like to be a sponsor.

Summer Junior Tennis Lessons
These tennis lessons will be under the instruction of Set Point Tennis directed by Mike Murphy. Junior tennis lessons are designed to enable children to learn, rally, play and compete right from the start. Tailoring equipment and courts to a child’s size make the game more accessible and fun. Parent volunteers are always welcome to assist with the program. Any questions on the league can be directed to Mike Murphy at 484-638-4502. Last year 6 participants from the Summer Tennis Leagues received a scholarship for free tennis with Set Point Tennis Organization valued at $7,600. Set Point Tennis will submit participants from the Muhlenberg Summer Tennis Program for scholarship consideration and possible free tennis lessons. To register for the program go to and click on Muhlenberg Summer Programs.

Muhlenberg Community Library Mini Golf Fundraiser
Come out to play mini golf at Schell’s on 5th St. Highway on Tuesday, July 16 to help support the Muhlenberg Community Library. Tickets need to be purchased at the Library, in advance, to have the money support the Library. They are just $5/ person. That actually is less than what an adult would normally pay for a round of golf at Schell’s. Show your support of the Library system by playing golf on July 16. If the weather is inclement on Tuesday, golfing will be on Wednesday. Don’t forget, you can have dinner or an ice cream snack while you are there. Make it a special night out with the family. Plan on it today!!!

Girls’ Volleyball
Are you a girl, going into 5th or 6th grade, looking for a new sport or are you looking to better your volleyball skills? What better way to get training than from a high school senior who has been playing volleyball since the 5th grade. She will focus on your basic skills of bumping, setting and hitting. Some time will also be devoted to learning how to serve. Let this coach share her love of volleyball with you.
