Muhlenberg Police Launch New Electronic Information Service
Recently the Muhlenberg Township Police Department has launched a new service at no cost to the residents of the township. This service provides up-to-date information to residents regarding several types of crimes occurring in the township. This information is delivered through a website called CrimeMapping.com
Using this website, residents can receive a visual depiction of crime occurring in the township by way of a simplified crime mapping interface. Using this interface, residents can view crimes occurring in the entire township or just in a particular neighborhood. Residents can also filter the map by crime type and by date range, to narrow or broaden the scope of information desired.
The Muhlenberg Township Police Department hopes that by providing this information, township residents can become empowered to take a more proactive approach to helping the police department achieve crime reduction goals throughout the community. The police department also welcomes this opportunity to be more transparent in the information that is provided to the residents of Muhlenberg Township.
Please take a moment to visit this website at crimemapping.com
and become familiar with its interface and tools. The City of Reading currently posts data to this website as well, so there is current and relevant crime data for citizens living near the city border. There are no sign-up fees, and no account or membership is required.
