Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the municipality. They are responsible for decisions that affect many aspects of the township, from approving expenditures to setting tax millage, to approving all subdivision plans. Monthly meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month.
Planning Commission reviews subdivisions and land development plans. They also recommend changes to the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, and report to the Board of Supervisors. Monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of the Month.
Zoning Hearing Board hears and rules on requests for variances, special exceptions or appeal of a decision by the Zoning Officer. The Zoning Hearing Board only meets as necessitated by an application.
Recreation Board for Upper Tulpehocken Township is currently SARA (Strausstown Area Recreation Association).
Uniform Construction Code Appeals Board, a joint board with Strausstown Borough, hears and rules on appeals of decisions of the Building Code Officer. The Board meets as necessary.
Township Auditors are responsible for auditing the income and expenses of the township. Auditors meet at the beginning of every year and submit an audit report to the State.
