Read to Reese—2nd Tuesday each month 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Reese, a Chocolate Labrador Retriever, is a certified therapy dog and a Reading Education Assistance dog. Children can read to him for 10 minutes. Sigh-up sheet is at the circulation desk.
National Library Week April 14-20: To celebrate National Library Week the Wernersville Library is having a Chick Hatching Project from Quiver Farm. The farm is bringing an incubator, pre-incubated eggs and all the necessary equipment to take care of the chicks once they have hatched. Please join us on April 16 (time to be determined) when the eggs arrive and watch the incubator being set up and a presentation using a live rooster and hen. The chicks should hatch a few days later and will be here until April 25. Please call the library at 610-678-8771 after April 10 for the time of the arrival of the eggs.
Pollywog Preschool Art Classes---April 2 and May 7---10 to 11 a.m.: Art projects and stories for children ages 1-5 and their caregivers. All art materials are washable. Pre-registration is required and a $3.00 fee to cover the cost of materials. Call 610-678-8771 to register.
Friends’ Book Sale: Wednesday & Thursday, May 1 & 2, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. AND Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fightin Phillies Summer Reading Kickoff—June 9: Please join us at the Reading Fightin Phils FirstEnergy Stadium to kick off the Berks County Libraries Summer Reading Program. There will be tickets available at the library for $2.00 for general admission (these can be preordered). The library benefits from the sale of these tickets. There will be games and prizes so please join us and show support for your library!
