The Recreation Board oversees all the parks within the Borough. They are there to keep the places looking good and to offer as many recreational outlets as possible. The meetings for the Recreation Board are held every 2nd Monday at 7pm in the council room of the Borough Hall. Residents are invited to attend these meetings, especially if they have concerns or suggestions to be addressed by the board.
Below is some general information concerning the activities in which the Recreation Board is involved.
- Concert in the Park
- Ball Field
Please contact the Rec. Board or the Borough Hall for any interest in renting the Ball Field.
- Hall and Park Pavillion Rentals
If you are planning a family event, why not consider holding it at one of the pavillons in the Town Park or at the Mill Spring Park or in the spacious room on the second floor of the Borough Hall (which is currently under construction). Information on fees and applications can be obtained at the Borough Hall during normal business hours. We hope that all residents take advantage of enjoying our beautiful Town Park and playground and regulation outdoor basketball court at Mill Spring. There have been some recent acts of vandalism at both parks and we would remind everyone to please respect these properties so that they can be enjoyed in the future. If you witness anyone damaging equipment or buildings, please report it to the police department. These parks belong to all Womelsdorf residents and it is up to ALL of us to take care of them.
- Halloween Parade and Easter Egg Hunt
The Recreation Board provides financial support and judges for the annual Halloween parade sponsored by the Womelsdorf Area Community Association. We also sponsor the visit of the Easter Bunny each year at the Women of Today's annual Egg Hunt in the Town Park. Members of the Recreation Board are proud of their association with other service groups in our community and greatly appreciate the help of those groups at our events.
