The full-time dispatchers work 12-hour rotating shifts/days off, and part-time dispatchers fill in for vacations, sick leave, etc. The Chief Dispatcher serves as the supervisor of the Communications Center.

In addition to actual dispatching, each dispatcher is given a particular set of clerical responsibilities.  These include the following as examples: data entry; parking/citation control and entry; statistical review; CLEAN/NCIC QA/QI audits; etc.  This list is not all-inclusive, but provides a representative example of the tasks assigned to each dispatcher.
