The Wyomissing Police Department was formed circa 1914.  By 1918 the Department was under the command of the first Chief of Police.  Today, the Wyomissing Police Department is a progressive, community-oriented police agency, consisting of 23 sworn officers.  Our officers have an abundance of talent and expertise in specialized fields.  The Department has officers certified in forensic artistry, forensic hypnosis, accident reconstruction, arson investigation, motor carrier enforcement, range instructors, crime prevention, K-9, and evidence processing just to name a few.

With community service as our foundation, the Department through teamwork holds itself to the highest standards of perfection as we foster a sense of security in the community.
