The Commissioners and President Judge have authorized a delayed opening of the Berks County Government Offices and Courts on Monday, March 3rd. The County and Courts will not be open until 10 A.M. All staff in non-24/7 operations shall not report to work until 10 A.M. All Jurors are to report at 10 A.M. as well.
At 5 A.M., the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Emergency Services, and Court Administrator will review the current weather conditions and forecast in order to decide whether the delay should be extended or whether the County and Courts should close. They will present their recommendation to the Commissioners and President Judge for approval.
As always, the delay does not pertain to 24/7 operations; Berks Heim, BCRC, the Jail, the Sheriff, and DES, or their employees. Employees in 24/7 operations must follow the internal policy of their department.
