Hotel Tax
 
The Berks County Hotel Room Rental Tax Ordinance was adopted on January 16th of 1997 and the tax was imposed at a rate of 5% effective March 1, 1997.
 
Market Area
 
Is defined as the area of Berks County not more than 15 miles from the site of the Convention Center.  The Berks County Hotel revenue is shared by the Convention Center Authority (80%) and Berks County Tourist Bureau (20%).  There are (30) Hotels in the defined Market Area that produce approximately $1,700,000 annually.
