Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Information
In the July 2010 Monthly Newsletter distributed last week, http://www.co.berks.pa.us/ema/lib/ema/files/desnews/july_des_news.pdf, information was provided on the FY 2011 Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grant Program. Guidance on the application process was released and is contained in the PDF document link below. As was stated previously, if your municipality has previously adopted the Berks County Hazard Vulnerability Assessment and Mitigation Plan, you are eligible for funding through this program.

Based on last year’s submissions and process and PEMA and the Office of Administrations internal workflow mapping process, we have added a training requirement prior to providing a user name and password for E-grant access. A requesting entity must complete

Course Overview
This interactive computer-based course is designed to provide Subgrant applicants basic knowledge about using the web-based Mitigation Electronic Grants (eGrants) Management System. A part of the eGovernment initiative, eGrants streamlines the application process by providing local governments the ability to apply for and manage their subgrant applications over the Internet. This course is designed to allow the individual to take it in its entirety or to focus on specific aspects of the Mitigation eGrants System. The course examines registering for access to the eGrants System; creating and completing and submitting subgrant applications to the Grant Applicants; and managing submitted applications.
Course Objectives
1. Describe the eGrants system function, users, and subgrant application process;
2. Log in and out of eGrants;
3. Navigate and access Help within the eGrants system;
4. Create a subgrant application;
5. Describe each subgrant application section;
6. Provide, update and revoke access to a subgrant application;
7. Complete and submit a subgrant application;
8. Manage previously submitted subgrant applications.
