MISSION: For the public purpose of alleviating unemployment, maintaining employment at a high level, eliminating and preventing blight, eliminating or reducing air and water pollution, and creating and developing business opportunities by the construction, improvement, rehabilitation, revitalization and financing of industrial, commercial, manufacturing, research and development enterprises.
About BCIDA: BCIDA was established by the County Commissioners on May 7, 1969 in accordance with the Pennsylvania Economic Development Financing Law (Act 102 of 1967, P.L. 251, formerly the Industrial and Commercial Development Authority Law). BCIDA is committed to serving the residents of Berks County and their elected representatives, the County Commissioners, by implementing their plans, strategies and initiatives for economic development. BCIDA utilizes all of its legal powers, skills, relationships and resources to accomplish its mission. BCIDA’s primary focus is on financing, acquiring industrial land, developing specialized industrial parks and the infrastructure development necessary for economic development to occur.
The five-member Board of Directors appointed by the County Commissioners for staggered five-year terms governs the BCIDA and is as follows:

The BCIDA meets publicly once a month.
