The Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, 2010 has been cancelled. The Planning Commission will meet at the next regularly scheduled date which is Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
Please Note: Cycle 2 for pumping on-lot septic is now in effect.
Residents having individual sewage a disposal system are required to have the system tank cleaned out by pumping by a registered pumper/hauler at least once every three (3) years. The Township is divided into three (3) Cycle areas:
Cycle 2: July 1, 2010-June 30, 2011,North side of State Street, West of Topton Borough and South side of State Street,
West of Centennial Road Woodside Avenue.
Cycle 3: July 1, 2011-June 30, 2012, South side of State Street and Mountain Road, East of Centennial Road and Woodside Avenue
Cycle 1: July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013,North side of State Street and Mountain Road, East of Topton Borough
To All Residents: When burning within the Township boundaries, be aware there is a Burning Ordinance No. 214 which outlines the what, where, and when to burn. If you wish a copy of the ordinance please stop in the Township office during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm or print a copy of the ordinance from this website.
Pennsylvania s Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act of 2008 is new legislation designed to protect consumers from fraud on the part of contractors. Among other requirements, and with certain exceptions, contractors must register with the state, and sign a contract with the homeowner before doing home improvement work in Pennsylvania. The definition of home improvement work under this act is very broad. More information can be acquired by logging onto the state attorney generals web site at www.attorneygeneral.gov/hic.aspx. The Township office has four copies of a video "Down the Drain: Septic System Sense" which covers the steps you can take care for and maintain your on-lot septic system. These videos are available for borrowing and may be picked up during office hours 9:00-4:00PM, Monday - Friday.
