Halloween and Holiday House Decorating Contests
The Arts Board had so much fun judging the 2009 Holiday House Decorating Contest we have decided to expand on that idea and have a contest for the Halloween season, as well as the Holiday season.
The top winners in each contest and category will win gift cards, while others will receive certificates. So start planning your decorations for this year’s contests. We hope to promote the ghoulish times of the Halloween season as well as the sparkling lights and wreaths for the Holiday season. Register for this fun event today.
Rules of the Contest:
1) All contestants must live in Muhlenberg Township or Laureldale Borough. The Township may be divided into zones if the number of entries is high.
2) All decorating must be done by the homeowner, not a professional decorator.
3) Entry deadline and judging is:
Oct. 20th at 4:30PM for Halloween contest. Judging will occur on Sunday, Oct. 24 from 6:30 to 9PM. Dec. 15th at 4:30PM for the Holiday contest. Judging will occur on Sunday, Dec. 19th from 6 to 9PM.
Categories include:
Halloween Contest: Most Whimsical/Creative, Most Holiday Spirit, and Most Haunting.
Holiday Contest: Most Whimsical/Creative, Most Holiday Spirit, and Most Classical/Elegant.
4) To enter call 610-929-1503 and state that you want to enter the house contest and leave your name, address and phone number OR email recreate@muhlenbergtwp.com.
5) Winners will be notified by either Oct. 27th or Dec. 22nd and a photo of their home will be posted on the Township’s website and/or in the winter edition of the Township News.
6) All contestants grant Muhlenberg Township the non-exclusive right to use a photo of their decorated home, as well as their name and address in the Township’s Recreation News, the website, and/or future promotional materials.

Artists Wanted
The Board seeks artists willing to display their work during several months in 2011. There is no fee to exhibit and items can be for sale. All art must be able to be hung for this display. Please contact the Parks Office at 610-929-1503 for an application.
Muhlenberg Community Chorus
Muhlenberg Community Chorus invites anyone who likes to sing to join us at rehearsals on Mondays from 7 to 8:30PM in the music room at C E Cole. Our Christmas program will be held on Sat., 12/4 in the Muhlenberg Middle School beginning at 3PM. If you would like the chorus to sing for your group please contact JoAnne Lutz at 610-478-7939.
