Mission Statement: The Berks County Parks & Recreation Department is charged with the development, operation, and maintenance of all the County-owned Parks, recreation facilities, and historic sites. The Department is responsible for providing recreational opportunities as well as addressing the interpretive and educational needs as related to these facilities.
Welcome to Berks County's beautiful park system. We have 9 parks for you to visit and enjoy, including Gring's Mill Recreation Area, the Union Canal Walking & Bicycle Trail, Antietam Lake and the Berks County Heritage Center. (No Pets allowed, except Antietam Lake- See ALL Rules & Regulations.) We offer recreation and educational programs year-round. Whether you enjoy summer concerts in the park, festivals or historical programs, we have something for everyone of all ages!
Please be advised that the Angora Rd. Parking Lot and the Mudcatcher Parking Lot on Angora Rd at Antietam Lake Park will be under construction starting May 31, 2016. The Parks Dept. will make an effort to have one lot open while the other is closed and being worked on. There may be times when both parking lots will need to be closed for paving. For further information, call Gring's Mill office at 610-372-8939.
