About Sheriff's Office
The Berks County Sheriff's Office is staffed with 107 full-time employees, operates a fleet of 30 vehicles and occupies three floors of the Berks County Courthouse. The office is responsible for elements of criminal court, civil court, enforcement of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Motor Vehicle Code, and has a licensing issuance and enforcement function. The office service area not only includes all of Berks County but is often required to travel the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the entire United States. The office services tens of thousands of civil customers in the county and handles over 12,000 criminal defendants each year. The Sheriff's Office is organized into 6 Divisions: Civil, Court, Patrol, Central Booking, K-9 and Warrants.

BCSO Explorer Post Fundraiser 2016


The Berks County Sheriff's Office will be holding deputy testing on Saturday, February 27, 2016.  Applications may be submitted to the Sheriff's Office no later than Monday, February 15, 2016. 

There is a $50.00 testing fee for Deputy Sheriff testing.  Once an application is received, a form letter will be sent to the applicant which will provide direction on how payment is to be made.  Please contact Teresa Medaglia at (610) 478-6240 x3262 with any questions


The Berks County Sheriff's Office is now accepting payment's in the form of credit cards.  You may pay with the following cards: Visa, Discover and Mastercard.​


Starting March 2015 the Remote Location hours will be changing to 11am to 5pm.  ​



Starting March 2015 the Airport Substation will be closed the following days each month:



3rd Monday, 3rd Tuesday, 3rd Wednesday, 3rd Thursday and 3rd Friday                            ​
