Chief Deputy Damore has been a member of the Berks County Sheriff’s Department since 2002. He was first a deputy sheriff assigned to the Court Division, then the Firearms License Unit, then back to the Court Division as the first Security Deputy to Judge Paul M. Yatron.
His duties as Chief Deputy are to assist the Sheriff in the overall operation of the Berks County Sheriff's Department as well as maintaining the budget and all of the purchasing for the department. He is the supervisor of the Real Estate Administrator, 4 Captains, 8 Sergeants, 10 office staff members and 83 deputies.
Chief Damore earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Alvernia College. He has been a police officer for five years with the Reading Police Department and two years with the Central Berks Regional Police Department. He has received commendations from the Reading Police Department including the Medal of Valor.
For the past several years Chief Damore has been working with Sheriff Weaknecht in expanding the
ID Me Child Identification Card Program to having over 16,000 children registered in it.
Chief Damore is an NRA Firearms Instructor, TASER Instructor, Certified Child Car Seat Safety Technician and has trained at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He is a member of the Berks County Chiefs of Police Association and Fraternal Order of Police Berks Lodge # 71.
