DRUG ARREST - FENTANYL TRAFFICKING
PERSON INVOLVED: Alexander Gomez (41 years of age)

CHARGES: Possession, Possession with Intent to Deliver - Fentanyl,
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
During July 2020, the Berks County Drug Task Force initiated a drug investigation relative to Alexander Gomez dealing Fentanyl in the area of the 1000 block of North 12th Street, Reading, PA.
Based on information received and investigation conducted, on August 12, 2020, the Berks County Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence of 1046 North 12th Street, Reading, 1st floor apartment, Berks County, Pennsylvania, and the body of Alexander Gomez. The search warrant was issued by Magisterial District Judge Carissa Johnson.
On August 12, 2020, at 10:17 a.m., the Berks County Drug Task Force and the Reading Police Vice Unit served the search. Gomez was present and immediately placed under arrest.
As a result of the search, the following items were found and seized:
1- Thirty (30) packets of suspected Fentanyl
2- Three (3) packets of suspected Heroin
3- Numerous drug paraphernalia items related to processing Fentanyl for street sales
4- Assorted documents related to suspect, Gomez
5- One (1) cellular telephone
6- One (1) gram of Fentanyl
7- $11,438.00 in U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from drug sales
Alexander Gomez was transported to the Berks County Sheriff’s Central Processing Center for processing and preliminary arraignment. Bail was set at $500,000 and he currently remains in Berks County Jail.
As in every criminal case, the fact that an arrest occurred or a complaint has been filed is merely an accusation, a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
