DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
 
In early February of  2021, detectives form the Berks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, the Reading Police Department and Muhlenberg Police Department initiated a drug investigation relative to confidential information that Gage Marrone  was trafficking methamphetamine in the area of  Muhlenberg Township, Berks County, PA.   
 
During the months of February to March, detectives obtained probable cause to believe that Marrone was trafficking quantities of methamphetamine from his residence at 1008 Boeshore Circle.
 
Subsequently, detectives obtained a search warrant issued by Berks County Magisterial District Judge Dean Patton, for the premises of 1008 Boeshore Circle and the body of Gage Marrone.  The search warrant was for controlled substances and related drug paraphernalia associated with trafficking. 
 
On Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at approximately 9:00 AM, detectives served the search warrant at 1008 Boeshore Circle.  Marrone was found inside the residence and taken into custody.  Detectives searched the residence and the following items were seized:    
 
  1. Approximately three ounces of methamphetamine (street value $1800)
  2. One semi-automatic 9mm pistol
  3. Packaging material consistent with the distribution of methamphetamine
  4. Three digital scales
  5. Four cellular telephones
  6. U.S. Currency believed to be the proceeds of drug sales
The defendant was transported to the Berks County Sheriff’s Central Processing Department for processing and video preliminary arraignment.  At the time of this release the defendant was awaiting the preliminary arraignment.    
 
As in every criminal case, the fact that an arrest occurred or a complaint has been filed is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
