Homicide Arrest - Sinking Spring

DEFENDANT:     Jillian Rae Blimline (38 Years Old)
                            Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania
CHARGES:          Murder of the First Degree
                             Murder of the Third Degree
                             Aggravated Assault (2 Counts)
                             Possessing Instrument of Crime
On Sunday, December 13, 2020, at approximately 9:06 P.M., Berks County Department of Emergency Services received a 911 call from a female at 20 Maywood Avenue, Sinking Spring (South Heidelberg Township), Berks County, Pennsylvania.
The female caller was emotional and most of the information she was providing was unintelligible.
The 911 call taker dispatched both Emergency Medical Services and South Heidelberg Township Police Officers to this Maywood Avenue residence, which is described as a split-level, single home in a residential neighborhood.
At approximately 9:12 P.M., the first Police Officer arrived at the scene followed by Western Berks Ambulance. Upon entering the residence, the Police Officer located the victim lying on the floor inside the 1st floor dining room. EMS personnel provided medical care and advanced life support which included CPR, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, to the victim.
The victim sustained a penetrating stab wound to his chest and was immediately removed from the residence and transported via ambulance to the Trauma Center at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. (Tower Health)
The victim was positively identified as (39) thirty-nine year old Chad Allen MacWilliam, who resides at this residence along with the defendant, Jillian Rae Blimline, and their (4) four-year old daughter. The victim, defendant and their daughter were the only occupants inside the home when the stabbing occurred.
At approximately 10:15 P.M., the victim was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
On Monday, December 14, 2020, at approximately 5:00 P.M., Forensic Pathologist Dr. Supriya Kuruvilla conducted an Autopsy on the victim. Based on her examination and the results of the Autopsy, Dr. Kuruvilla concluded the Cause of Death was due to a “Single stab wound of chest.”
The Berks County Coroner’s Office ruled the Manner of Death as Homicide.
The Berks County Detectives partnered with the South Heidelberg Township Police Department and conducted this joint Homicide Investigation, which also included the participation of the Berks County District Attorney’s Forensic Services Unit, who also responded to process the crime scene.
On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, the Berks County Detectives filed criminal charges against the defendant at Magisterial District Judge Ann Young’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued.
At approximately 11:45 A.M., members of the South Heidelberg Township Police Department along with Berks County Detectives, took the defendant into custody at her Sinking Spring residence.
The defendant was transported to the Central Processing Center and released into the custody of the Berks County Sheriff’s Department.
The defendant will be fingerprinted and photographed.
She will have a Preliminary Arraignment and then committed to Berks County Jail without bail. (No bail for Murder of the First Degree)
As in every criminal case, the fact that an arrest has occurred or a complaint has been filed is merely an accusation, and the defendant Jillian Rae Blimline, is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
