Registration for the October 9, 2020 Sheriff Sale will be available at
9am on Monday, September 21, 2020 on the Sheriff Sale page.  

Due to COVID restrictions and advice from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we will be limiting the amount of people allowed to attend the sale.  Registration will be required and will be granted to the first 45 registered persons.  Masks are required and social distancing will be maintained.

Firearm licensing through the Berks County Sheriff's Office can now be completed online by using the link below.
 
(Note: If your current license is expired use the "NEW License to Carry Application" option) 
 
If you do not want to use the online service, please see below.
 
Applications will only be accepted via US Mail or through the online process.
Once your permit is approved you will be contacted/prompted to set up an appointment to complete the process.

Effective September 1, 2020, the Berks County Sheriff's Office will no longer be accepting CASH as a form of payment.  We require payment for services to be made by check, money order or credit card ONLY.

About Sheriff's Office
 
The Berks County Sheriff's Office is staffed with 107 full-time employees, operates a fleet of 30 vehicles and occupies three floors of the Berks County Courthouse. The office is responsible for elements of criminal court, civil court, enforcement of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Motor Vehicle Code, and has a licensing issuance and enforcement function. The office service area not only includes all of Berks County but is often required to travel the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the entire United States. The office services tens of thousands of civil customers in the county and handles over 12,000 criminal defendants each year. The Sheriff's Office is organized into 6 Divisions: Civil, Court, Patrol, Central Booking, K-9 and Warrants.
