The purpose of the Berks County Workforce Development Board is to identify the long-term, strategic workforce development needs of the community; propose strategies to meet those needs; set priorities; build partnerships to align resources in support of those strategies; test specific initiatives to advance those ends; and measure and evaluate results. We support the development and maintenance of a skilled and competitive workforce in alignment with the broader economic development efforts to attract, retain and grow business in Berks County.

Meetings of the Berks County Workforce Development Board (WDB) for calendar year 2023 are scheduled quarterly, in March, June, September and December at 7:30 a.m. Please visit http://www.co.berks.pa.us/Pages/Calendar.aspx for location details (in-person or virtual) and for the meeting agenda (24 hours prior to meeting).

STEVENS AMENDMENT
The Stevens Amendment is an appropriations provision that requires grantees of the Department of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (HHS), and Education to disclose for a grant program the percent of the costs financed with federal funds.

- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs are federally supported 100% by the U.S. Department of Human Services as part of an award totaling $3,846,548 with $0 (0%) state, local, and/or non-governmental funds.
- Discretionary grants are federally supported 100% by the U.S. Department of Labor as part of an award totaling $254,243 with $0 (0%) state, local and/or non-governmental funds.
