  • All Berks County Employees and anyone entering county buildings must wear a mask or they will be denied entrance.  County of Berks Offices are currently open only to individuals with appointments and to conduct essential business.  Essential business refers to those functions that cannot be postponed or conducted remotely.

Goals & Objectives

It is the goal of this office to administer Voter Registration and conduct Elections in accordance with Federal and State voter registration and election laws. The office of Election Services maintains the accuracy of 260,000 registered voters for Berks County. Maintains boundary maps and descriptions for the 202 voting districts; locates accessible and suitable polling places; trains and processes payroll for 1200 polling place officials and processes candidate nomination petitions. It also prepares and packages various election materials required by polling officials; maintains, services and prepares approximately 500 electronic voting machines; processes Absentee, Alternative and Provisional Ballots; and certifies Official Election Returns. Lastly, it informs candidates, political party committees, the media and the general public of the voter registration and election process.

  • ​Municipal Primary, May 18, 2021

    · First day to circulate and file nomination petitions – February 16, 2021

    · Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions – March 9, 2021

    Nomination petition packages will be available starting February 1, 2021. We strongly encourage you to print the package from our website. The package will also be available in our office starting Monday, February 1st.
     
    An appointment link will be added to our website to schedule a time slot to file your petition paperwork in our office between February 16th and March 9th.

  • Online Complaint Form
    • if you believe your rights have been violated,
    • if you have a complaint about how elections in Pennsylvania are conducted, or
    • are aware of any voter fraud, please use the online form to let us know about it.
  • Mask Requirement

    The public is required to wear a mask if they need to come into the Courthouse or they will not be permitted access

  • New Voting System

    The Berks County Board of Elections would like to introduce the new voting system mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of State. The new Express Vote (Ballot Marking Device) and DS200 ballot scanner will be in all 202 precincts for the 2019 Election on November 5th and all future elections.
